Abstract This research was carried out to evaluate the susceptibility of 4 imported rootstocks (6001 F1, BS F1, Ohbkatosa F1, and RG F1) and 4 local cultivars (2 watermelons, Aswan F1 and Nems, and 2 sweet melons, Fransawy, and Turkey) of cucurbitaceous crops and their grafting against the root-knot nematode (RKN), Meloidogyne incognita infection, and the phylogenetic relationships among these hybrids as well as the gene expression and root exudates of resistant ones were observed. The host response of grafted rootstocks to 4 inoculum levels of RKN was also evaluated. The effect of both the RKN and Fusarium wilt diseases on grafted rootstocks was also studied. |
