Abstract This study included 23 patients who presented with infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms exceeding 5.5 cm, endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair was done, short-term outcomes were determined, and proved the efficacy of EVAR and the results showed improvement in the perioperative mortality and morbidity period as compared to similar studies. Recommendations: Based on the fore-mentioned results of our study, we recommend the following: 1. EVAR is a safe and effective procedure for the treatment of AAA, with accepted lower complication rate, therefore may be considered 1st line for treatment of AAA. 2. Introducing more endograft devices in the Egyptian medical service to increase the competition between medical companies and their products 3. ICU admission post intervention is not needed as a routine practice unless there is identified criteria to avoid increasing costs and exhaustion to the medical team. 4. Further studies in this research area with larger sample size, more equipment, and longer follow up period. |
