Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of low level laser on postmenopausal osteoporosis. Forty post-menopausal women shared in this study complained from osteoporosis were chosen from Matria Teaching Hospital in Cairo.Their ages were ranged from 55 to 65 years old. They were divided randomly into two groups equal in number, group (A) performed aerobic exercises program in the form of treadmill exercise 3times/week for 4 weeks, while group (B) performed aerobic exercises and received low level laser at hip joint and lumbo-sacral area for four weeks. Duel energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) was used to measure the level of osteoporosis pre and post treatment for both groups (A & B). The results showed that there is a significant decrease in bone mineral density in both groups (A & B). When both groups compared together there is a significant difference in post treatment values (more decrease in group B). So, it can be concluded that low level laser is very effective adjunct method in reducing post-menopausal osteoporosis
