Abstract

Endovascular surgery has been proposed as a more safe, effective and less expensive alternative to lower extremity arterial bypass surgery for treating critical limb ischemia. The less invasive nature of the endovascular have resulted in increasing the use of this modality as a primary treatment of lower extremity arterial stenoses and occlusions. TASC D femoropolpliteal lesions where long ago considered as absolute contraindication for endovascular intervention . This prospective study included 51 patients presented to the vascular surgery department in Kasr Al Aini and New Kasr Al Aini teaching hospitals with femoropopliteal disease for whom endovascular revascularization was done, between January 2013 and January 2014 The aim of this work is to evaluate the role of angioplasty in management of TASC D femoro-popliteal disease in era of new modalities and equipment’s in patients with critical limb ischaemia regarding the feasibility, durability and complications. also the risk factors affecting the patency will be studied
