Abstract The aim of this study was to assess the maximal incisal opening of patients with chronic mandibular condylar dislocation using Patient Specific Titanium Eminoplasty versus Inlay Autogenous Bone Graft. The study included 20 patients (10 for each group) with a history of at least two incidents of condylar dislocation per day were selected for this study. Patients were 13 females and 7 males. Patients were selected from the outpatient clinic of the Oral and Maxillofacial Department, Faculty of Oral and Dental medicine, Cairo University and diagnosed on clinical examination and a thorough medical and dental history The selected subjects were divided into two equal groups: GroupI: including 20 joints, each joint underwent Patient Specific Titanium Eminoplasty GroupII: including 20 joints, each joint was treated by Inlay Autogenous Bone Graft. Baseline data were collected including decrease in MIO measurement, pain relief in the TMJ muscles by VAS, decrease in the intraoperative time and increase in the patient’s satisfaction. Data were collected pre-operatively, one week, one month, three months and six months till 12 months post- operatively. |
