Abstract

Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) describes a wide range of deformities from dislocation, subluxation, instability, and dysplasia of the femoral head and acetabulum. There is a controversy regarding the ideal cut-off age to safely perform operative management with lower complications that yield the best outcome. It includes open reduction, removing all soft tissue obstacles e.g. iliopsoas tendon release, adductors tendon release, pulvanir tissue removal, release of contracted transverse acetabular ligament, excision of hypertrophied ligamentumteres, doing capsulorrhaphy.
