Abstract

Purpose: To evaluate the three cervical angles, anterior head traslation (AHT) and pain pressure threshold (PPT) of the upper fibers trapezius in physical therapists with mechanical neck pain (MNP) versus control group of physical therapists. Methods: 38 individuals, including 19 physical therapists complaining of neck ache, were engaged in this study caused by mechanical forces and 19 individuals who are not in any pain.Three cervical angles were used as outcome metrics (Oc-C2,C2-C7, C1-C2) and AHT measured via X-ray imaging Additionally (PPT) by pressure algometer and function by(NDI).Results: There was a significant decrease in the PPT of left and right trapezius of the experimental group compared with that of the control groups (p = 0.0001). However no significant statistical diffrence between this two groups of individuasl were found for the ( NDI, Oc-c2 angle, C2-C7, C1-C2)( (p = 0.08, p = 0.7, p = 0.5, p = 0.79) respectivly. Conclusion: Egyptian physical therapists with MNP had increase PPT relative to control group
