Abstract

This investigation was conducted during the two seasons of 2020 and 2021 at the Nursery and Laboratory of Ornamental Plants Division, Horticulture Department,, Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University. The target of this study was to examine the response of vegetative growth, root system and some chemical composition of jojoba seedlings to treatments of compost (500, 1000 and 1500 g/container) and some stimulating substances [active yeast (10 g/l), garlic extract (10%) and vitamin E (100 ppm)].
All vegetative and root growth parameters as well as some chemical constituents of jojoba seedlings were significantly increased by compost treatments comparing to the control. The treatment of 1500 g/container compost was the more effective than other treatments.
Spraying plants with vitamin E, active yeast and garlic extract significantly increased all previous parameters, except K % comparing to the control. Treated plants with active yeast at 10 g/l was superior than other two treatments (vitamin E and garlic extract).
The best interaction treatments was compost at 1500 g/container in combination with active yeast at 10 g/l.
