RESEARCH OBJECTIVES: The main objective of this study is to examine the effect of exposing the Egyptian university students to the celebrities’ YouTube channels on their acquirement of new habits and behavioral patterns. The Specific Objectives are: 1- Recognizing the intensity of exposure of Egyptian university students (the study sample) to the channels of YouTube celebrities. 2- Determining the most prominent topics that receive great attention from the content of YouTube celebrities for Egyptian university students (the study sample). 3- Exposing the motives for the exposure of Egyptian university students (the study sample) to the channels of YouTube celebrities. 4- Determining the degree to which Egyptian university students (the study sample) like the lifestyles of YouTube celebrities as depicted in their videos. 5- Finding out the reasons that drive the Egyptian university students (the study sample) to be attracted to and interact with a certain YouTube celebrity. 6- Examining the relationship between the popularity of YouTube content creators and the follow-up of Egyptian university students (the study sample) to them and their adoption to their behaviors and lifestyles as depicted in their videos. 7- Knowing the levels of social presence among Egyptian university students (the study sample) during their exposure to the channels of YouTube celebrities, which is reflected in how they interact with the videos of YouTube celebrities, the degree of their feeling of the presence of others with them, and how close they feel to YouTube celebrities. 8- Monitoring the relationship between the personality of YouTube celebrities and their influence on Egyptian university students (the study sample) and their adoption to their behaviors and lifestyles as depicted in their videos. 9- Determining and monitoring the behaviors and habits that Egyptian university students (the study sample) may acquire as a result of their exposure to the channels of YouTube celebrities. 10- Knowing the effect of demographic variables (gender, geographical area in which the respondent lives, academic specialization of the respondent, social and economic level, type of education) on the adoption of Egyptian university students (the study sample) to the behaviors and lifestyles of YouTube celebrities as depicted in their videos. METHODOLOGY: This study is a descriptive study and uses the media survey method. THE STUDY SAMPLE: The study was applied to an intentional sample of Egyptian university students interested in following the channels of YouTube celebrities who present their personal experiences, daily activities and lifestyles, with their various specializations and levels, which consisted of (400( singles from four universities: (Mansoura, Horus, Beni Suef, Al-Azhar). MAJOR FINDINGS OF THE STUDY: 1- Almost half of the sample members are exposed to the channels of YouTube Celebrities on an irregular basis. 2- (Fitness Vlogs) came in the first place as the most watched topic with a percentage of (43.3%), followed by (Beauty & Fashion) content with (39.5%), and then (pranks) with (28.0%), then the rest of the subjects in close proportions. 3- The motive of exposure to the channels of YouTube Celebrities (to benefit from their advice regarding learning and various aspects of life) came at the forefront of other utilitarian motives with a relative weight of (10.54%). The motive (for entertainment and leisure) came at the forefront of ritual motives with a relative weight of (10.37%). 4- (Like) came at the forefront of the respondents’ interaction with the content of YouTube Celebrities with a relative weight of (10.18%). 5- The overwhelming majority of respondents believe that YouTube Celebrities have an impact on the behavior of Egyptian university students, as (83.6%) categorically confirms this, while (15.7%) of respondents believe that the effect occurs sometimes. 6- The phrase (helping Egyptian university students to acquire or develop certain skills such as: learning languages, how to prepare some dishes, etc.) came in the first order of the influence of YouTube Celebrities on the behavior of Egyptian university students from the point of view of the study sample with a relative weight of (8.84%), Followed by the phrase (adopting positive habits and behaviors such as reading, exercising, etc.) with a relative weight of (8.64%), then the rest of the effects in close proportions. 7- Most of the sample members admire the lifestyles of YouTube celebrities as depicted in their videos (at a medium degree) with a percentage of (60.0%), followed by a category (with a weak degree) with (29.8%), and then a category (to a large extent) with (10.3% .( 8- The study revealed that the respondents could listen to the advice of a YouTube content creator or imitate his behavior despite the fact that the number of subscribers to his channel does not exceed a thousand subscribers (sometimes) at a rate of (76.3%), and (always) at a rate of (13.3%), while the The remaining percentage (10.5%) is for those who answered (no). 9- The use of video in blogging affects the sample members’ feeling of the presence of others while watching the content of YouTube celebrities (at a medium degree) with a percentage of (53.0%), followed by a category (to a large extent) with (24.3%), then a category (with a weak degree) with (22.8%). 10- The practice of (speaking in the colloquial dialect) ranked first as the most practice that helps to enhance the feeling of intimacy and communication between the sample members and the YouTube celebrities who follow them and the feeling of their presence with a relative weight of (18.94%). 11- More than half of the respondents feel closeness and intimacy with YouTube celebrities who follow them (at a medium degree) with a percentage of (54.0%), followed by a category (with a weak degree) with (28.3%), and then a category (to a large extent) with (17.8%.( 12- The phrase (because he has a sense of humor) came at the forefront of the reasons that the study sample members are attracted to a certain YouTube celebrity and interact with him with a relative weight of (9.69%), then the rest of the phrases came in close proportions. 13- The study revealed that YouTube celebrities play an important role in the lives of Egyptian university students, and the exposure to their content affects followers and gains them new habits and behavioral patterns. And the phrase (Videos of YouTube celebrities who provide book reviews and talk about their reading habits motivate me to read) came at the forefront of acquired habits and behavioral patterns with a relative weight of (5.28%), then the rest of the behaviors with close relative weights. 14- The study showed that the largest percentage of the sample members believe that the channels of YouTube celebrities will be widely spread in the future. The category (agree) came in the first place with a rate of (61.5%), followed by the category (neutral) with a rate of (31.3%), and the third and final category came (opposition) with a very small percentage of (7.3%).
