Abstract Background Tendon repairs with 6-strands withstand combined active and passive finger motions. The rupture rate is lower with the use of multi-strand repairs compared with those following conventional 2-strand repairs. However, no randomized Prospective clinical studies have investigated this particular question. Method We discuss the clinical results of flexor tendons repair using si-strand suture technique to repair flexor tendons in 46 finger of 22 patient . finger were actively mobilized immediately postoperative in a protective splint . The follow {u2013}up period average 12.7 month . Result 91% of cases achieved good to excellent results based on Strickland evaluation system and rupture rate was 4% of the cases. Conclusion Using multi-strand flexor tendon repair is superior to conventional 2-strands repair in term of final functional range and less rate of rupture |
