Abstract

This study is randomized clinical trial, split mouth design where each allocated patient was act as his own control where the left and right side of the patient were randomly allocated to the intervention and the other side to the control .
Twelve patients were the participants of this study, for each patient six implants were inserted in the edentulous maxilla after a complete denture has been constructed. CBCT was performed for to evaluate the bone left and right side of the edentulous upper jaw. The participants were blindly allocated to group I (conventional casted metal framework) used in one side of the edentulous ridge and group II (intraoral electric welded framework) used in the other side of the edentulous arch.
In group I (the conventional casted metal framework) the framework was constructed according to the conventional manners started from the impression making to the final try in of the metal framework after casting procedure then passive fit was verified.
In group II (intraoral electric welded framework) the titanium bar was shaped then was welded to the shaping abutments using electric welding machine (the Syncrystallization Unit) .
Then both groups were received a pickedup screw retained hybrid prosthesis sectioned in mid line, palate less and reduced in the 2nd premolar area.
Outcome assessment bone changes were evaluated by performing a standardized digital periapical radiographs using parallel technique(long cone technique) around each implant in both mesial and distal aspects.
Conclusion : within the limitation of this it was concluded that:
1- there was bone height changes around implants through the whole follow up period in both groups.
2 - It was revealed that in both groups the bone changes was greater in the period from 6 months to 12 months than the bone height changes from time of loading to 6 months after loading.
3 -On comparison between both groups it was found that the bone height changes yields lower values in the electric welded group through the follow up period(1 year) than that in the conventional casted group.
