Abstract

Skin disorders are very common in many tropical countries among farmers. The pattern of skin disorders varies from one country to another and across different parts within the same country. Skin disorders are generally considered to be more prevalent in the rural areas of Egypt. There are several factors that can increase an agricultural workers risk for sunburn. Farmers are exposed to outdoor environmental conditions, high levels of solar radiation, repeated contact with irritant chemicals and plants, Friction against the skin while operating grinding machinery/equipment can scrape away the skin, reducing its protective action. Clothing soaked with irritants, or having open cuts or skin injuries enable irritants to penetrate the skin more easily.
