Abstract

Background nursing practice may lead to exposure of nursing staff to several types of occupational hazards, that may affect their health and the quality and quantity of their performance . The organizational climate of the hospital may be one of the reasons that increase or decrease the exposure to occupational hazards. The Aim of the study assess the relationship between organizational climate and occupational safety and health for nurses. A descriptive correlational design was utilized in this study. The study was conducted at New Kaser El-Aini Teaching Hospital. A sample (293) nurses participated in this study. Tools for data collection are consist of two tools : the first tool was hospital climate questionnaire consisted of two parts ,the first part was related to personal characteristics of the participants , the second part was to assess the nurses perception of their hospital climate , the second tool was occupational safety measures used to assess occupational safety and health for nurses. The Results of the study revealed that the nurses perceived their organizational climate negatively as about less than half of the participants (46.32%) only perceived their hospital climate was acceptable and favorable. Regarding to occupational safety and health the study revealed that only (30.1%) of the participants perceived application of safety measures in their hospital
