Abstract

Reverse supply chain management is concerned with the ordering, manufacturing and inventory decisions of materials and products throughout all tiers in the supply chain, including the processing of returned products from end customers for possible remanufacturing. In centralized supply chain management, such decisions are centrally organized for the sake of minimizing the overall supply chain costs and consequently benefit all tiers of the supply chain by improving their competitive advantage. In synchronized ordering policies (SOPs), the ordering decisions of each entity in the supply chain are coordinated to reduce the fluctuations of inventory levels at higher tiers of the supply chain, and consequently improve their ordering and manufacturing decisions. One of the SOPs is the multiple integer ordering policy. Multiple Integer ordering policy determines the order cycle of a higher-level tier as a multiple integer of the order cycle of a lower level tier .The objective of this thesis is to develop mathematical models that represent the application of the multiple integer order policy under three different configurations of the reverse supply chain network. In these configurations, one or more main components of the same main function are used in to manufacture one or more products of the same type
