Abstract One-stage mastopexy with breast augmentation is an increasingly popular procedure among patients and of considerable interest to plastic surgeons who perform breast surgery because of its complixity. Sixty of breasts were operated upon in thirty patients. On preoperative assessment mamosonography was done to exclude any breast pathology; 7 patients (23.3%), had grade 3 ptosis and 23 had grade 2 (76.6%). The majority of women had had children and had breast-fed (83.3%). The mean follow-up period was (28) months (range =8-48) and over all patient satisfaction was high only five patients (16.66%) had minor problems. There were no major postoperative complications and MRI was done to assess implant related complications. The combined technique of circumareolar mastopexy and augmentation with implant is a safe and reliable method to correct ptosis in volume-depleted breasts. Patients should be counseled on the possible need for minor revisional procedures |
