Abstract
Choanal atresia is a well-recognized etiology for congenital nasal obstruction. Since the original description back in the early eighteenth century, there have been controversies regarding its exact pathogenesis and the optimal surgical management in spite of abundant literature available. Despite of the increased molecular understanding of CA formation in recent years, further research in the genetic component of pathogenesis may help to elucidate the disease process more clearly
