Abstract There is no consensus on how the diameter of an endotracheal tube (ETT) for a pediatric patient is determined. Various formulas have been developed to overcome these variations caused by anatomical, structural, and racial differences (Schramm et al., 2012 and Onuk, 2015). Formulas based on age and height often fail to reliably predict the proper endotracheal tube (ETT) size in pediatric patients (Shibasaki et al., 2010). |
