Abstract In the past few decades, the synthesis of hybrid nano-composites has great interest due to their tunable pore size, morphologic properties, large surface area and pore volume. These advantages make nano-materials good candidates for many different potential applications in catalysis, adsorption and separation processes, sensors, drug delivery, controlled drug release, and the template for other materials. Silica-based nanocomposites are a kind of nanomaterials; these materials have supplied successful solutions in different scientific field during the last decades. So the modifications of pure and doped hybrid silica-based nano-composites have made silica-based nanocomposites one of the most interesting nano-materials in wide range of different applications especially in optical and clinical applications. The thesis aims to use a sol-gel method to prepare modified silicate-based nanocomposites by incorporating some inorganic and organic materials, studying the change in structure and morphology of the prepared nanocomposites under the effect of different nanoparticles, and applying these silicate-based nanocomposites as drug delivery systems for Velosef and Flomox drugs. |
