Abstract Research Objective The main goal of this thesis is to investigate the changing in the tensile behavior (mechanical properties), and the burning rate characteristics (ballistic characteristics) of hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) propellant under the variations of the crosslinking density, which was predominantly determined by the equivalent ratio of diisocyanate to total hydroxyl (NCO/OH ratio), which known as the curing ratio. Objective The main objective of this literature survey is to investigate the mechanical properties and ballistic characteristics with a change in curing ratios on solid propellant in order to detect the behavior of the solid propellant. And an investigation of the effect of temperature change on stress and elongation, the stress increases with increasing temperature and the elongation decreases with decreasing temperature. To study a change in curing ratios on the burning rate, it has a slight effect with increasing the burning rate. |
