Abstract The sheet of each sample was cut according the standers of each instrument which used. Mechanical properties like tensile strength, elongation at yield, and young’s modulus, was obtained by using universal testing machine, also shore A Hardness was obtained by shore A tester. Each sample was carried out four times according to the standers to minimize the errors. Electrical properties like surface resistivity and volume resistivity also were measured by the same way. Also, thermal properties were obtained by using DSC instrument so, we can detect Tg, decomposition temperature, and the stability of the samples was detected from the heat content for the decomposition and from the weight loss at the decomposition. Also, vicat test was carried out to detect the different stabilities of these samples after mica addition. SEM was used to explain the results by showing the matrix and the mica flakes distribution and the bonds occur in between them. A brief background details on the basics and the methods of the instruments that was used for studding the mechanical, electrical, thermal and morphological properties and the full details of samples preparation also was illustrated in this chapter. |
