Abstract

literature survey and introduction to the basics, importance and general mechanism of photocatalysis, approaches of improvement PCA by doping, heterojunction and sensitization, CuO and its role in photocatalytic applications, doping of CuO with Mn, Junction of CuO with Dissimilar Semiconductors, ZnO and its limitations in the PCA and the strategies for improvement of ZnO PCA, such as n-type doping, p-type doping and p-n co-doping, p-n junction, coupling with CuO semiconductor and ZIF-8 as a precursor of ZnO. Finally, a brief about the aim of the thesis is presented at the end of the chapter.Chapter two: show the materials and the experimental methodology which used in synthesis of Plain CuO, C(M), C-Z, C(1M)-Z, C-Z(A), C-Z(N), C(1M)-Z(A), C(1M)-Z(N) and C(1M)-Z(1A,0.1N) NSs. It included the characteristic techniques which applied for the synthesized NSs and illustrate the PCA of all synthesized NSs in degradation of MB under visible light irradiation.
