Abstract

Structural asymmetries between both cerebral hemispheres are well-known in human neuroanatomy and are linked to different functional and cognitive abilities. White matter (WM) plays an important role in different brain functions, relaying and coordinating communications between different brain regions for information processing. In this study we explored the differences in diffusion tensor imaging measurements between the right and left corticospinal tracts and superior longitudinal fasculi in 24 normal healthy subjects. We found a significant difference in mean fractional anisotropy between the right and left corticospinal tracts and the right and left superior longitudinal fasciculi
