Abstract

Abdominal wall diseases may raise diagnostic challenges because of the low specificity of the physical findings. Ultrasound is usually regarded as a first{u2010}line imaging modality for masses and mass-like lesions in the abdominal wall. It is a dynamic study focusing on a painful area or palpable mass with the possibility of ultrasound{u2010}guided aspiration or biopsy. The aim of this work was to evaluate the usefulness of performing high resolution ultrasound in assessment of abdominal wall masses and mass-like lesions in comparison with the operative data, histopathological examination and computed tomography. The current study included fifty four patients. All patients were subjected to assessment of abdominal wall masses by high resolution ultrasound
