Abstract Back ground: Tubo-peritoneal factors of infertility comprise the most frequent causes of infertility in women. And hence evaluation of tubal patency represents a key step and a basic investigation in the assessment of infertile women .The two most important diagnostic procedures which are used for the evaluation of tubal patency are hysterosalpingography (HSG) and laparoscopy. Objectives: Assessment of hysterosalpingographic findings in relation to that of laparoscopy regarding the tubo-peritoneal factors of infertility. Patients and methods: This prospective study was carried out on thirty patients attending the radiology department and the gynecology outpatient clinic of KASR El AINI HOSPITAL between July 2018 and March 2019.It included seventeen patients with primary infertility and thirteen patients with secondary infertility. The included cases underwent HSG in the proliferative phase of the cycle and then they underwent DL in the proliferative phase of the arranged cycle. The results of HSG were then compared to those of lapaoscopy in assessment of tuboperitoneal factors of infertilitycificity of 90.7%, a positive predictive value of 75%, and a negative predictive value of 88.6% |
