Abstract
Osteopenia and osteoporosis are the commonest bone complications of beta-thalassemia. This study was done to evaluate bone mineral density in patients with beta thalassemia major using DXA. The study included 64 Egyptian children (32 males and 32 females) with thalassemia major of age ranged from 5-12 years old following up in hematology clinic, New Children’s Hospital, Cairo University
