Abstract
Background: Pulmonary hypertension of the newborn is a critical problem facing neonatologists and pediatric cardiologists. Aim of the work: To outline the percentage of pulmonary hypertension, prenatal risk factors, post natal characteristics and outcome of preterm neonates with pulmonary hypertension Patients and methods: This is a prospective descriptive study. Preterm neonates admitted to the inborn tertiary level neonatal intensive care unit of Cairo University Pediatric Hospital during the period from the beginning of February 2018 till the end of July 2018 were subjected to echocardiographic estimation of their systolic pulmonary artery pressure (SPAP)
