Abstract During delivery of all ceramic restorations, the dentist often needs to perform clinical adjustments, consequently removing the superficial glazing layer. This increases the surface roughness of the restoration and could result in increased wear of opposing dentition and more stain accumulation, thus, affecting both the mechanical and optical characteristics of the material.Reglazing may be performed prior to the luting procedure and involves reheating the ceramics and applying a superficial glaze layer. Using Chair-side ceramic polishers can reduce treatment time by avoiding reglazing the prosthesis and the need for lab support. A total number of 30 discs were milled from Bruxzir anterior Zirconia blanks. The samples will be divided into three groups (n=10): Group-G (control group) glazed samples of thickness 1mm, which didn{u2019}t receive any surface finish, Group-RG glazed samples of thickness 1.2 mm, that were ground and re-glazed and Group-P glazed samples of thickness 1.2 mm, that were ground and polished using a chair side polishing kit. Spectrophotometric analyses were performed to quantify color change (xE), translucency (TP) and contrast ratio (CR) for each sample. A representative sample was randomly selected from each group for, measurement of surface gloss, X-ray diffraction crystallography and scanning electron microscope imaging |
