Abstract

This is a 10-year retrospective study on patients diagnosed with aggressive lymphoma in NEMROCK between 2008-2018. We investigated the effect of extranodal involvement and its effect on response and survival. Data of patients with aggressive lymphoma was collected from the NEMROCK database and analyzed. Out of 377 patients, 210 (55.7%) patients had extranodal involvement. The most common site involved was GIT followed by head and neck. Our study confirms that patients with extranodal involvement show worse OS, especially with GIT, bone marrow, skin/soft tissue, and CNS involvement. There was no significant difference in DFS between nodal and extranodal involvement. There was significant difference in response rate between nodal and extranodal group of patients after treatment with chemotherapy. This significant difference was eliminated after addition of rituximab to chemotherapy. Patients with bulky lymph nodes (>7.5 cm) showed significantly worse response rates and survival. Only 4.9% of patients developed CNS relapse. Our results showed that there is significant association between extranodal involvement of the head/neck and skin/soft tissue with CNS relapse
