Abstract

This study was conducted at Fac. of Agric., Cairo univ., in 2014/15 and 2015/16, to study the effect of micronutrients and biostimulants on growth, flowering, seed yield and chemical composition of Silybum marianum L plant. 1-The results of the first experiment showed that: Spraying plants with microelements gave the tallest plants, especially with low dose of B. The thickest stem obtained with low dose of B. The No. of branches and leaves/plant obtained with low dose of Mn and B. The heaviest fresh leaves obtained with low dose of Fe and B. while, the heaviest dryleaves obtained with the high dose of B and low dose of Fe. Fe, Mn and B, increased the No. and diameter of inflorescences and seeds. The highest No. seeds/plant and the heaviest seeds obtained with high dose of B and low Mn. The high level of B and Fe increased thecarbohydrates content. The highest silymarin content was obtained with the B and high dose of Mn. 2-The results of the second experiment showed that Bio-stimulants treatments increased the plant height, No. branches and leaves/plant. High level chitosan and algaesignificantly increased No. of inflorescences/plant. Chitosan 200ppm, E.M 10 ml/l and algae 5.0 g/l, gave the largest inflorescences
