Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the colour change of bleached enamel immediately after bleaching and remineralization, 24 hours later and 1 month post remineralization with casein phosphopeptide{u2013}amorphous calcium phosphate without and with fluoride. A total of fifteen extracted human anterior teeth were used in this study. Teeth were bleached with the bleaching agent using in office chemically activated 40 % hydrogen peroxide gel (Opalescence Boost 40%). They were divided into three equal groups of five teeth each according to the remineralizing materials used, group A Control group (no remineralizing agent was used); group B Casein phosphopeptide {u2013} amorphous calcium phosphate without fluoride (CPP-ACP) (GC tooth mousse); group C Casein phosphopeptide {u2013} amorphous calcium phosphate with fluoride (CPP-ACP/F) (GC MI paste plus). All teeth were stored in artificial saliva which was refreshed every day then assessment of all teeth for colour change was done using a spectrophotometer in terms of CIE-lab system in L* a* b*. The assessment was done before, immediately after bleaching and remineralization, after 24 hours and finally after 1 month of application of the remineralizing agents (a total of 60 readings). Data were collected, tabulated and statistically analyzed |
