Abstract

Landscape is one of the most affected reasons to visit a destination. For the hospitality
industry, landscape is one of the determinants that influence guest choice to select a hotel
to stay or visit which by turn will impact his/her satisfaction. There are many hotels
which highlight the natural beauty of the area, use natural materials, sustainable methods
in the buildings to adopt with landscape, those hotels don’t interrupt the landscape but
integrate with it, in these hotels they let nature do the talking. The study refers to the
landscape in the service sector in general and in Egypt hotels and resorts specifically.
Egypt has a picturesque nature that affects the tourism sector, that’s why hoteliers need to
take the advantage of it in hotels.
The study also examines the mediating role of guest satisfaction between landscape and
guest loyalty. A questionnaire was used to collect data from five-star hotels’ guests.
Statistical analysis of quantitative data done to the guests of five-star hotels and resorts, it
indicates that there is a significant relationship between landscape and guest loyalty. The
analysis also confirms that guest satisfaction acts as a partial mediator between landscape
and guest loyalty.
The study concludes with providing useful recommendations for hotels to know the best
landscape could be applied in a hotel or resort. Safety and security are the most important
variables that customers are looking for when selecting a hotel as a result, it also
recommends enhancing a hotel with more safety techniques. It’s revealed that guests are
sensitive to the cognitive loyalty, that’s why they prefer the friendly staff and the
pleasant environment of the hotel.
