Abstract

The purpose of the research is to assess the current status of housekeeping service quality onboard offshore vessels (OSVs) and investigate the impact of employees‘ perception of housekeeping services on their job satisfaction and productivity. The hospitality services are considered the backbone of petroleum offshore vessels OSVs because employees are in need to unique hospitality services during their accommodation especially the housekeeping services that help in creating a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere during work period that last for weeks. The research used two research tools, the first is an observation list to assess the current status of housekeeping service that introduced to employees onboard OSVs. And he second is a questionnaire form to investigate the impact of employees‘ perception of housekeeping services on their job satisfaction and productivity. The findings of the research revealed that the there is a positive impact of employee perception of service and job satisfaction and productivity. The research concluded set of recommendations fistly: General recommendations regarding the daily tasks of housekeeping staff, secondly: Specific recommendations regarding vessels physical appearance, accommodation cleaning, infection control besides safety and security and finally Covid-19 related recommendations regarding general precautions done by vessel staff to prevent Covid-19, crisis management strategy to manage infection situation, action plan to follow with resources deployment an supervision plan to involve all staff in action plan and keep logbook of actions.
