Abstract

The known cancer treatments have a lot of problems, Studies on Transition Metals showed that these problems could be overcome by design new transition metal complexes as Ru(II) with different Schiff base ligands which have a wide biochemical properties. A new series of complexes were synthesized by interaction of mononuclear Ru(II): Ru(Bpy)2Cl2 with some V-shaped Schiff base ligands (L1-4){L1:(Z)-1-(3-(4-(dimethylamino)benzylideneamino)phenyl)-ethanone,L2:(Z)-1 (3-(3,4dimethoxy benzylidene amino) phenyl) ethanone, L3:(Z)-1-(4-(4 (dimethylamino) benzylidene amino) phenyl) ethanone,L4: (Z)-1-(4-(3,4-dimethoxy benzylidene amino)phenyl)ethanone}these complexes were structurally characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-Vis, 1H NMR spectra, Mass spectroscopy, conductance measurements. Biomedical activities of these complexes were studied as antioxidant activities, interaction with calf thymus DNA, and Cytotoxicity against liver carcinoma cell line Hep-G2, breast carcinoma cell line MCF-7 and colon carcinoma cell line HCT-116 with IC50 values less than IC50 values of cis-platin . In addition to the antimicrobial activities were studied against the bacteria stains E.coli gram Negative, S.aureus gram positive and the fungus C.albicans, Aspergillus flavus. They showed a good antibiological and antimicrobial activity. The optimized structure of these complexes were justified by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. molecular docking studies with DNA by molecular operating environment (MOE) software was done to make the validation of the interaction studies of some complexes.
