Abstract Various techniques were used for 3-Dimensional ridge augmentation in the anterior maxillary esthetic zone. The aim of this study is to provide an innovative technique using patient specific PEEK sheets for 3D ridge augmentation with more accuracy, less intraoperative time and donor site morbidity and compare it with the autogenous bone shell technique. The study was conducted on two groups, 7 patients in each group with atrophied anterior maxillary alveolar ridges. The study group underwent rehabilitation using custom-made CAD/CAM Polyether-Ether Ketone (PEEK) sheets acting as a containment system for interpositional mix of autogenous and xenogeneic bone graft particulate fixed by monocortical screws. Autogenous bone shell technique was done to the control group. Radiographic Assessment included measurements of linear changes in the vertical and horizontal dimensions on cross sectional cuts of computed tomography (CT) using special software. Significant vertical and horizontal bone gain was found in both groups. The customized sheets were removed 6 months postoperative with successful placement of dental implants. Customized PEEK buccal and palatal CAD/CAM sheets appear to be promising and a highly accurate method for 3D ridge augmentation in the anterior atrophied maxilla |
