Abstract

The researcher investigated this study entitled ”The effect of some proposed enrichment activities based on memory strategies on developing listening comprehension skills of EFL Azhar primary stage pupils” under the supervision of Prof. Awatef Ali Sheir, and Prof. Azza Hamdy AlMarsafy. The researcher adopted the quasi-experimental pre test- post test control experimental group design. The participants of the study consisted of 66 sixth year primary Azhar institutes pupils’ selected from one of Sharkia governmental primary Azhar institute , (thirty three students in each group). The study instruments were listening comprehension checklist, Pre\Post listening comprehension test and Rubric rating scale . The study results showed evidence that: There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores on the pre-test and post-test of the study sample in overall listening comprehension skills in favour of the post-test scores. It was concluded that : proposed MST had proved to be effective in developing the necessary listening comprehension skills among the experimental group pupils, it had a large effect size on enhancing sixth year primary Alazhar institute pupils’ English listening comprehension skill. It was recommended that : EFL teachers should give more attention to the development of sixth year primary Alazhar institutes pupils’ listening comprehension skill in our classes throughout the use of varied learning activities. Furthermore, MST should be integrated within the regular classroom instruction through the use of extra-curricular activities
