Abstract

Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD)is a relatively common vision threatening ophthalmic surgical emergency. Advancements in retinal detachment surgery over the past years have led to excellent retinal reattachment rates. 21 Nevertheless, despite successful anatomic reattachment, many patients are unsatisfied with their visual outcomes. They complain of symptoms of image distortion as metamorphopsia. In some cases, suboptimal functional outcomes may be due to the phenomenon of retinal displacement. This phenomenon was first described in 2010 by Shiagami et al.They observed hyperautofluorescent lines on fundus autofluorescence (FAF)imaging. 4 These lines are thought to represent the original position of retinal vessels before the retinal detachment. They have been referred to as ”retinal vessel printings”(RVPs) or ”retinal pigment epithelial vessel ghost lines
