Abstract

The first part of this investigation concerned with isolation and identification of rhizosphere, rhizoplane, and endophytic fungi and bacteria from four cultivated plants, faba bean (Vicia faba L.), wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), onion (Allium cepa L.) and maize (Zea mays L.) collected from Assiut Governorate. While, the second part was focused on screening of isolated fungi and bacteria for their abilities to produce phytohormones espicially indole acetic acid (IAA), gibberellic acid (GA3) and cytokinins (CK). Also, optimizing the production process and application of highly producer on Zea mays plants under normal and stress conditions were evaluated.
The current results could be summarized in the following points:-
1- Fourty species and one variety belonging to 18 fungal genera were isolated during the current investigation. The genus Aspergillus ranked as the first genus, which was represented by 15 species and one variety belonging to nine group as follows: two species and one variety to A. flavus, five species to A. niger, two species to A. terreus, one species to each of A. clavatus, A. flavipes, A. nidulans, A. ochraceous, A. versicolor and A. wentii.
