Abstract

Background:Despite advances in chemotherapy, allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) remains the best postremission therapy for patients with acute leukemia and unfavorable prognostic features at diagnosis, primary induction failure, or in second and third complete remission.Haploidentical stem cell transplantation (Haplo-HSCT) is a therapeutic option for patients without an HLA-matched donor. Haploidentical donors are generally available for most patients and stem cells can be rapidly obtained. Delays in transplantation while waiting for unrelated donor cells can be potentially problematic for patients with advanced disease at risk for progression; thus, the use of haploidentical donors, especially in this setting, can be life-saving.Objective: The aim of this study is assess toxicity, complications,Disease free survival overall survival, relapse, Transplant-related mortalities in patients diagnosed to have hematological malignancies who will undergo Haploidentical hemopoietic stem cell transplantation.Patients and methods:This is a retrospective study conducted by NCI BMT team in different centers. The study included 35 patients diagnosed to have hematological malignancies lacking HLA fully matched donor who will underwent Haploidentical hemopoietic stem cell transplantation
