Abstract The microbiome is a group of microorganisms that live at a certain site of the body and includes microorganisms and their genomes. Microbial genes are responsible for metabolism of proteins, polysaccharides, the manufacture of vitamins, and methanogenesis. Therefore, it is thought that human metabolites also contain microbiome metabolites 1. Recently, many researchers supposed that an imbalance in the composition of the microbiome results in many diseases e.g., colon cancer. GIT microflora contributes to the breakdown of nutrients, removal of toxins, and prevents colonization of pathogens 2. GIT microbiome can respond to inflammation and enhances the immune system during the progression of colon cancer. Studying the relationship between GIT microorganisms and the progress of colon cancer may provide significant data for treatment strategies 3. |
