Abstract

According to the revolution of radiotherapy techniques in the recent decade, some complicated techniques such as RA (Rapid Arc) which needs more accurate quality control tools to verify the plans before the treatment delivery. Some of this verification tools includes EPID, Octavius and pinpoint ion chamber. The aim of this work is to make a comparison between the three different tools and prove their efficiency in the pre-treatment verification of RA plans. Forty RA (Rapid Arc) verification plans are done by using EPID (Electronic Portal Device) and Octavius. Different thirty RA verification plans are done using pinpoint ion chamber. All plans are performed by AAA algorithm implemented on Eclipse treatment planning system (Version 11.0).The average gamma passing rate for forty RA plans which examined by Octavius and Electronic Portal device were 97.73%±0.77% and 98.497%±1.02% respectively, which are in agreement qualitatively with previous results done by H Lee, et.al, (2014), Hossien Asilan, et.al, (2016), Ayman G Mohamed, et.al, (2018), Borna Maraghechi, et.al, (2017) and Sajeev Surendran, et.al, (2014).Pinpoint chamber shows an underestimation in the calculated isocenter absolute point dose by 2.95%±2.72% which in agreement qualitatively with previous results done by S.A. Syam Kumar, et.al, (2012), C Martens, et.al, (2000) and Robert J. W. Louwe, et.al, (2015)
