Abstract
The main target of this work is biological study to evaluate the effect of flaxseed oil and arabic gum on kidney failure induced rats.
This study included sensory evaluation between three concentrations (2, 6 and 10 %) of flaxseed oil and (10, 20 and 30 %) arabic gum to know which two more acceptable to used at a biological test.
Also, Study the efficiency of different concentrations (2 and 10 %) of flaxseed oil and (10 and 20 %) arabic gum of kidney failure male albino rats and some physiological characteristics such as (weight and internal organs weight, liver functions, kidney functions, RBC, hemoglobin, platelet, WBC) renal failure male albino rats were also measured during experiment.
The main materials used were ( flaxseed oil and gum Arabic) To sensory evaluation between three concentrations (2, 6 and 10 %) of flaxseed oil and (10, 20 and 30 %) gum Arabic we made cookies
and cake.
Renal failure rats will be induced by injection with diclofenac
Sodium (100 mg / kg of rat’s body weight).
At this study two concentrations of flaxseed oil (2 and 10 %) by
enteric injection and arabic gum (10 and 20 %) by Soluble in water during the experimental period.
5.1. Experimental animals do as the following The use of of (36) male albino rats weight ranges between (166 g ±10) during the experiment period .
rats will fed on standard diet for 7 consecutive days to make adjustment and 6 rats were left as 83
control (group 1),the remain 30 rats were injected with diclofenac Sodium a dose of (100 mg/kg) for 3 days then divided randomly into equal six groups as following :
o Control positive group (C+) fed on standard diet only.( group 2)
Kidney failure rats fed on arabic gum by 10% Soluble in water (AG10%). (group 3) Kidney failure rats fed on arabic gum by 20% Soluble in water (AG20%). (group 4) Kidney failure rats fed on flax seed oil by 2% enteric injection (FSO 2%).(group 5)
Kidney failure rats fed on flax seed oil by 10% enteric injection (FSO 10 %). (group 6)
The experiment took 5 weeks, at the end of the experiment period each rat weight
separately then, rats are slaughtered and collect blood samples and extracting the liver, kidney spleen,
lungs, heart, brain and testicles.
The results could be summarized as follow:
I. Statistical analysis
1. the result at the sensory evaluation showed that (arabic gum 10% , arabic
gum 20% , flaxseed oil 2% and flaxseed oil 10% ) was acceptable .
2. At positive control group (C+) decreased the final body weight when
compared to negative control group (C-) by 3.80 % with significant different
at P≤0.05.
3. Significantly variance in the final body weight was noticed between the group given the arabic gum (10%) and arabic gum (20%) and the control group by 2% and 1.87% respectively.
