Abstract Aim: The aim of this randomized controlled trial was to compare the PEEK abutment versus titanium abutment, regarding pink esthetic score and patient satisfaction in maxillary esthetic zone. Methodology: Twenty patients were selected from the outpatient clinic of the Implantology Department to restore single missing tooth in maxillary esthetic zone. Patients were randomly allocated into two groups: PEEK abutment (group 1) and Titanium abutment (group 2), both groups received PMMA restoration as temporary crown. Patients were recalled two weeks after temporary crown cementation, 3 and 6 months for Pink esthetic score (PES) and visual analogue scale (VAS) assessment. Results: The collected values were tabulated and statistically analyzed. The results showed that, group (1) had a higher PES value (12.20±0.84) than group (2) (11.40±0.55) yet the difference was not statistically significant (p=0.146) Conclusion: Survival rate was 100%, all implants were successfully osseointegrated. Both groups showed no statistically significant difference regarding the pink esthetic score (PES) and visual analogue scale (VAS). |
