Abstract

”This thesis intends to create a mixture of a natural polymer mixed with a broad-spectrum antibiotic called cefotaxime in graduated quantities to develop a new substance suited for usage in the biological and medical industries due to the difficulty and delay in wound healing in some pathological instances. Chitosan and gum arabic samples were created using a constant ratio of 10:90 chitosan to gum arabic in distilled water containing 2% acetic acid. Following the addition of cefotaxime in a graded ratio, mixing, and two days of incubator drying at 50 degrees Celsius, these are the results. The equipment used in the preparation operations and the measurements required to characterize them are also included in the casting-mothed approach. To learn whether these samples may be used in the medical domains, the results of several measurements were gathered. In addition to the perfect harmony between the materials employed and their improvement in some qualities, the created samples had a perceptible alteration. Next, we looked at biological activity against bacteria and fungi. The results indicated that adding more cefotaxime increased the activity coefficient against bacteria and fungi, particularly mushrooms and Gram+ bacteria. A study on the percentage of antibiotic emission from the polymeric matrix revealed that when pH and cefotaxime concentrations rise, so too does the percentage of antibiotic emission from the matrix.
