Abstract

This work was carried out in farm in sharkia government, in duration from 10/2/2021 to 25/7/2021. To study effect of litter size and weaning age on productive performances, carcass traits and economic efficiency of growing rabbits.
A total of 35 nulliparous New Zealand white does and 10 bucks (18 weeks old of age) were obtained from private company for rabbit production and used for one parity. Fourteen days after insemination, pregnancy was checked by abdominal palpation. For positively palpated does, the expected date of kindling is recorded, while, negatively palpated does were removed. On the first day after kindling (d 0), Kits were randomly assigned to one of the following three treatments according to litter size: 4-5, 6-7, and 8-9 kits in primiparous rabbit does. Within each treatment cages for half dams, half of the kits were weaned at 21 days of age (early weaning) and the other half at 28 days of age (standard weaning) The Rabbits groups kept under the same conditions from management, vaccinations, temperature and lighting.
