Abstract A total of 100 patients admitted to Chest department, Assiut University Hospital at the period from June 2017 to January 2020 were enrolled in this prospective cross- sectional study. They were divided to 2 groups according to their diagnosis (IPF and other ILDs). IPF group included 15 males and 35 female and the other ILDs group included 19 males and 31 females in between them 44 patients were chronic hypersensitivity pneumonitis, 3 patients were collagen disease associated, 2 patients were acute hypersensitivity pneumonitis, one patient was non specific interstitial pneumonia.The objective of this prospective cross sectional analytic study is to evaluate the clinical and radiological characteristics, and health related quality of life (HRQL) in patients with IPF presented to Chest Department, Assiut University Hospital and to compare them with patients with other ILDs.All patients were subjected to the followingDetailed medical history Physical examinationPlain chest X-ray Arterial blood gases (ABGs)High resolution computed axial tomography (HRCT) EchocardiographyPulmonary function tests (were done whenever possible) Health related Quality of life (HRQL): HRQL will be assessed using the Arabic version of St. George’s Respiratory Questionnaires. |
