Abstract

This observational study included 161 pregnant women who were pregnant in single fetus, full term delivery, not obese and naturally conceived with clear gestational age and exclude chronic diseases, corticosteroids therapy and any fetal malformation.
All patients were asked about their personal, obstetrical, family, past and menstrual history and then estimation of fetal weight with 2D US then categorize fetal weight according to fetal weight centiles then Serum total cholesterol (TC), High-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), serum Triglycerides, Fasting blood glucose and 2 hour post prandial were drawn then all cases were followed up till delivery to detect any intrapartum or postpartum complications and both maternal and fetal complications.
Results were summarized as follow:
Our study showed that fetal weight mean was 3408.4±341.2 gram.
Also, showed that according to fetal weight centiles (80.1%) was normal for GA and (19.9%) was large for GA. Also, showed that percentage of high cholesterol and high TG level in large for gestational age were (50%) and (93.8%) respectively and in normal for gestational age (7.8%) and (25.6%) respectively.
Also, showed that obstetrical outcomes of our study revealed that mode of delivery was (98 cases)were delivered through CS and (63 cases)were delivered through NVD, and the most common cause of CS was previous CS (81 cases) then maternal request (6 cases), abnormal presentation (6 cases) and obstructed labour (5 cases).
Also, showed that intrapartum complications were (151 cases) had nothing, (1 case) with shoulder dystocia, (2 cases) with perineal tear, (1 case) with obstructed labour, (2 cases) with fetal distress and (4 cases) with both fetal distress and obstructed labour.
