Abstract

The aim of this thesis was devoted to fabricate new modified
electrodes square wave voltammetry of ammonium ion and for anodic
stripping voltammetry of some heavy metals using simple electrochemical
methods as alternatives to traditional spectrophotometric techniques which
are very complicated, very expensive and couldn’t be used for in field
measurements in contrast our proposed methods distinguished with many
advantages summarize in its simplicity and the ability for using for on field
measurements. A novel electrochemical sensors based on carbon paste
electrodes (CPE) modified by poly(1,5-diaminoanthraquinone) (P1,5-
DAAQ) has been developed for individual and simultaneous determination
of copper (Cu2+) and antimony(sb+3) using square wave anodic stripping
voltammetry (SWASV). The combination of MWCNT and p-1,5-DAAQ
maximized the electrocatalytic activity of the modified electrode, which
exhibited high sensitivity and long term stability.
Selenite (Se4+), a significant source of water pollution above the
permissible limits, is considered a valuable metal by environmentalists. Its
autonomous monitoring in natural water is highly required for online, fast,
and facile techniques. In this study, we described a novel electrochemical
sensor that utilized a carbon paste electrode (CPE) that was modified using
multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and poly(1-aminoanthraquinone(p-
AAQ) for finding Se4+ in water samples.
On the other hand the pAAQ/Ag/MWCNT/ CPE modified
electrochemical sensor that used a carbon paste electrode (CPE) that was
modified using silver nanoparticles, multiwall carbon nanotubes
(MWCNTs) and poly-1-aminoanthraquinone(p-AAQ) for finding NH4+ in
water samples.
