Introduction:
The current era is the era of rapid changes in all fields, which led to many conflicts and differences, which in turn led to an increased interest in the social nature of man and interaction with the group, influencing it and being affected by it, which is important for the individual in all stages of his life, especially the university stage until the graduation of young people Only psychologically, able to face challenges, ready to build and give. Self-presentation strategies and the Big Five factors of personality The Great Five Factors are among the variables of psychology that help a person interact better in social life, reduce mental illness, and push for progress and success, and they are important for everyone, especially university students, because they are about to engage in greater social relationships, whether in the labor market, or creating a life A new family, they seek to make it stable and successful.
Statement of the Problem :
The problem of the study was determined to identify the relationship between self-presentation strategies and the five major factors of personality among a sample of university students
The study raised a number of sub-questions, which in turn represented the problem of the study, and seeks to answer them, and these questions are:
1- What are the most prominent self-presentation strategies for a sample of university students?
2- What are the major five factors of personality among a sample of university students?
3- What is the nature of the correlation between the self-presentation strategies available to a sample of university students and the five major personality factors they have?
4- What is the significance of the differences in self-presentation strategies among a sample of university students according to the gender variable (male-female)?
5- What is the significance of the differences in self-presentation strategies among a sample of university students according to specialization (scientific - literary)?
6- What is the significance of the differences in the five major factors of personality among a sample of university students according to the gender variable (male - female)?
7- What is the significance of the differences in the five major personality factors among a sample of university students according to specialization (scientific - literary)?
8- What is the possibility of predicting the strategies of self-presentation through the five major factors of personality among a sample of university students?
Significance :
It’s a significant study because:
• The importance of the study’s variables, as it deals with two of the most important variables in the personality of university students, which are strategies of self-presentation as one of the elements of success in life and good social interaction, and the five major factors of personality, which include many features that are considered among the determinants of individual behavior and his method of adapting to the environment.
• The importance of the age stage covered by the study, which is the stage of adolescence, during which students are exposed to many psychological, family, and social pressures, and consequently the need for attention and care.
• It can help parents by introducing them to proper education methods and the best ways to deal with their children according to the self-presentation strategies they are dealing with, as well as helping the teachers of this stage to understand the nature of students and the best ways to deal with them.
• Identifying the most commonly used self-presentation strategies among university students, which enables us to visualize guiding programs for the development of these strategies and to identify the factors affecting each category’s choice of different strategies and their relationship to the five major factors of personality.
• Researchers in the field of psychology can benefit from this study and open the way for them to conduct more future studies on the subject of the study through the results it will reach.
• The results and recommendations of the research can be used in planning and building counseling programs that contribute to the development of self-presentation strategies among university students.

Objectives:
The study aimes to:
1- Identifying the most prominent self-presentation strategies of a sample of university students.
2- Identifying the major five factors of personality among a sample of university students.
3- Identifying the nature of the correlation between self-presentation strategies and the five major factors of personality among a sample of university students.
4- Identifying the significance of the statistical differences in the self-presentation strategies of a sample of university students according to the gender variable (male - female).
5- Recognizing the significance of statistical differences in self-presentation strategies among a sample of university students according to specialization (scientific - literary).
6- Identifying the significance of statistical differences in the five major factors of personality among a sample of university students according to the gender variable (male-female).
7- Identifying the significance of statistical differences in the five major factors of personality among a sample of university students according to specialization (scientific - literary).
8- Recognizing the possibility of predicting self-presentation strategies through the five major factors of personality.
limits:
- the sample:
1) Survey sample:
The exploratory study sample consisted of (50) male and female students of the fourth year, Faculty of Education, Sohag University, (20) males, with an average age of (22.89), and (30) females, with an average age of (20.56).
2) Basic sample:
The sample was chosen through the stratified random method, where the two study tools were applied to a sample of (650) male and female students from the sample community, and it was not possible to collect (12) copies. The final sample of the study consisted of (618) male and female students.
Tools:
The current study was determined by the tools used in it, which are the following tools:
A measure of self-presentation strategies. Prepared / Researcher
B - The scale of the five major factors of personality. Prepared by/ Costa& McCrae (1992)
Arabization / Badr Al-Ansari 1997 AD.
Method:
The study relied on the descriptive approach based on the scientific description of the phenomenon under study as it is at the present time and the study of the existing relationships between it and other phenomena.
Statistical methods:
The data obtained has been unloaded to carry out statistical treatments, through which the researcher can reach results related to the objectives of the study and its hypotheses are achieved, which are as follows:
Pearson’s simple correlation coefficient.
Regression analysis. T-Test.
The researcher used the Spss program to statistically process the data, and the scores were rounded to the nearest two decimal places. The researcher agreed with a tabular significant value at the level of significance (0.05).
Hypotheses:
1- The strategies of self-presentation vary among a sample of fourth year students, Faculty of Education, Sohag University.
2- University students - in the College of Education - show different levels of performance on the scale of the five major factors of personality.
3- There is a statistically significant correlation between the self-presentation strategies of university students - in the College of Education - and the five major personality factors they have.
4- There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the self-presentation strategies that are attributed to the gender variable (male - female) in favor of females.
5- There are statistically significant differences in the mean scores of the self-presentation strategies that are attributed to the academic specialization (scientific-literary) in favor of the scientific students.
6- There are statistically significant differences in the scores of the five major personality factors that are attributed to the gender variable (males - females) in favor of males.
7- There are no statistically significant differences in the degrees of the five major personality factors that are attributed to the academic specialization (scientific - literary).
8- Self-presentation strategies can be predicted by the five major factors of personality among a sample of university students.
Results :
The current study yielded the following results:
1- The strategies of self-presentation vary among a sample of fourth year students, Faculty of Education, Sohag University, the most prominent of which was the strategy of acceptance and approval, and the lowest was the strategy of intimidation.
2- University students - in the College of Education - show different levels of performance on the scale of the five major personality factors, where the most prominent of these factors was openness to experiences and the least neuroticism.
3- There are relationships of varying type (positive and negative) and of varying significance (significant and non-significant) between the strategies of self-presentation among university students - in the College of Education - and the five major factors of personality for them, including the presence of a positive correlation between the strategy of acceptance and approval and all the five major factors except for the neurotic factor where the relationship between them was negative.
4- There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the self-presentation strategies that are attributed to the gender variable (male-female) in favor of females in the two strategies (begging and representation), and in favor of males in the (intimidation) strategy, while the differences between the sexes were not statistically significant in the two strategies. (Acceptance, approval, and self-improvement).
5- There are statistically significant differences in the mean scores of the self-presentation strategies that are attributed to the academic specialization (scientific-literary) in favor of the scientific students in the strategy (acceptance and approval), while the differences between the sexes were not statistically significant in the strategies (begging, self-promotion, and representation, and intimidation).
6- There are statistically significant differences in the scores of the five major personality factors that are attributed to the gender variable (male-female) in favor of females in the fifth factor (conscientiousness), while the differences between the sexes were not statistically significant in four factors (neuroticism, extraversion, and openness). on experience, and admissibility).
7- There are statistically significant differences in the scores of the five major personality factors that are attributed to academic specialization (scientific - literary) in favor of scientific students in four factors (neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experiences, and acceptability), while the differences were not statistically significant in the fifth factor ( vigilance of conscience).
8- Self-presentation strategies can be predicted by the five major factors of personality among a sample of university students.
