Abstract

Introduction : The incidence of bifurcation lesions, the technical difficulties inherent in their treatment, the lower success rate, and higher complication and restenosis rates observed in this setting compared with non-bifurcation lesions have prompted intense research activity and have made coronary bifurcation stenting the focus of specific sessions in major interventional cardiology meetings (Stankovic et al., 2009) So many studies discussed different BLs techniques and compared them regarding MACE Aim: the present study was a prospective randomized trial discussing BLs in Assuit University heart hospital and different techniques used by our operators with short term follow up regarding MACE Also we aimed to calculate percent of BLs interventions cases in our hospital during one year which was 6.5% 0f total PCI cases Methods full history taking, 12 leads-ECG, echocardiography were done to every patient as baseline data then coronary angiography findings were taken in details as regarding lesion site, MV and SB lesion stenosis and length, bifurcational angle and finally techniques used Follow up was done during hospital admission post PCI and after 3 months to detect MACE Results: Different BLs complex techniques as TAP, Culotte, Crush, Mini-crush and V-stenting were used by operators with the patient clinical presentation in their mind and accordingly provisional stenting is preferred in STEMI cases.
