Abstract

Congenital heart disease (CHD) is a major cardiac problem in pediatric population. TOF encompasses a large spectrum of anatomical presentations with differing surgical approaches, and long-term outcomes representing an index lesion for the pediatric cardiac team with multiple intellectual and technical challenges. TOF is almost universally amenable to surgical repair with good longterm outcome. This, however, requires a thorough pre-operative anatomic description of central and branch pulmonary arteries and associated defects, like additional muscular VSD, ductus arteriosus (PDA), Major Aortopulmonary Collateral Arteries (MAPCA). The aim of our work was to assess the role of MSCT angiography in delineation of the anatomic spectrum of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), its variants
and related extracardiac vascular abnormalities before surgery. This study included 50 patients (26 females and 24 males) with suspected or confirmed TOF or one of its variants by Echocardiography and clinical picture. They underwent cardiac MDCT angiography using 320-row multidetector CT scanner installed at Tanta University New Educational Hospital in the period from November 2019 and November 2021. The age group of the study cohort ranged from 4 days to 74 months, with a mean age of 14.430±19.783 months.
